
The Ramjaane Joshua Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Texas. Our mission is to change the lives of immigrants, refugees, and others by advocating for them and helping them learn to integrate themselves into American society.
Integration
The RJ Foundation main goal is to integrate refugees and immigrants into United States’ daily life. In this Social integration, we educate members of minority groups (immigrants/refugees) in order to gain full access to the opportunities, rights and services available to them. Integration does not mean that we lose our identity but become an integral part of the America society. It’s different from participation which create a parallel system which leads to isolation “us” and “them” and discrimination. Integration means incorporation as equals into society of individuals of different group.
The RJ Foundation provides different help that facilitate the community to live a better life. Bellow are the services we provide that helps refugees and immigrants to be integrated:
English Class
Computer Class
Citizenship Class
Driving class
Translation/Interpretation
Job assistance
Small projects- hair braiding, Sewing, Farming, Agriculture, etc...
Use of buses
Applications: apartments (lease), Food stamps, Medicaid , Financial Aide, etc.
Bill assistances
Shopping assistance
Sport and Entertainment
Organizing Baby showers, birthdays and children event.
Teaching them their rights (Working with Law enforcements to teach them what they can and can’t law wise)
Advocacy
The RJ Foundation provide Self and individual advocacy for the people mentioned above by offering independent support to those who feel they are not being heard and to ensure they are taken seriously and that their rights are respected. We also assist people to access and understand appropriate information and services.
